Application Process:

- 12 January 23 January 2010 - 7 February 2010 : Shortlisting of applications
- 17 February – 20 February 2010 : Shortisted applicants’ interviews
- 22 February - 26 February 2010 : Final Selection

APPLICATION CRITERIA
- A proven commitment to screenwriting and film as a medium (N.B. this could be in the form of unfilmed/unpublished works).
- Proven ability to respond to deadlines and the demands of a course in which the participants are expected to self-motivate and deliver projects.
- Ability to respond to and contribute constructively to peer criticism.
- Willingness to undertake five and six day residential programmes.
- Development capability of proposal: scripts should have high viability of being produced.
- As the course will be conducted in English, participants MUST have a high level of fluency in the language, both written and spoken. However, the final script CAN be intended to be produced in another language.
- Participants MUST be Singaporeans or permanent residents of Singapore.
- Participants must have a commitment to the development of film in Singapore.
- Participants must be over 21 years of age.
- All submissions must be original material with no copyright or third party infringements.
- All successful applicants will be asked to sign a confidentiality agreement.
SELECTION CRITERIA
Selection will be based on:
- the strength, creativity and originality of the story concept.
- the writer’s ability to develop this concept through an intensive workshopping and mentoring process.
- the potential viability of the project as a low-budget feature film, in the Singaporean context (estimated budget of SGD250,000).
